Muslim funeral held for baby who died of starvation in Gode, Ethiopia on April 14, 2000 in Gode the capital of Ogadin Province in Ethiopia. Thousands of people came to Gode to look for food and water during a severe drought in the area. Many nomads in the area had to sell their livestock and search for food and water in Gode.

Acquisitions of this worldly life, like rusty scrap metal, are worthless...why not direct our efforts towards gaining precious metals and gems in the hereafter?
"Know ye (all), that the life of this world is but play and amusement, pomp and mutual boasting and multiplying, (in rivalry) among yourselves, riches and children. Here is a similitude: How rain and the growth which it brings forth, delight (the hearts of) the tillers; soon it withers; thou wilt see it grow yellow; then it becomes dry and crumbles away. But in the Hereafter is a Penalty severe (for the devotees of wrong). And Forgiveness from Allah and (His) Good Pleasure (for the devotees of Allah). And what is the life of this world, but goods and chattels of deception?"

"And whoever fears Allah, He will provide him a way out and will provide for him from an unforeseen direction. And whoever relies on Allah, He is sufficient for him. For Allah will surely accomplish his purpose: verily, for all things has Allah appointed a due proportion."

The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) is reported to have said:
"If only you relied on Allah a true reliance, He would provide sustenance for you just as He does the birds: They fly out in the morning empty and return in the afternoon with full stomachs."

"And behold! you come to us bare and alone as We created you for the first time: ye have left behind you all (the favours) which We bestowed on you: We see not with you your intercessors whom you thought to be partners in your affairs: so now all relations between you have been cut off, and your (pet) fancies have left you in the lurch!"
